ABOUT US

Gooseneck started in 1974 in Kenmare, North Dakota. Kevin Borud bought the dealership from his father in 1989 and Kevin is still with the company today. In 1998, Borud bought Ward County Implement in Minot. In 2004, Gooseneck expanded to Mohall, Lansford and Stanley. Velva, Harvey and Rugby joined the Gooseneck team in 2008. In 2010, Gooseneck expanded to Williston, ND and merged the Lansford store into the newly built Mohall store. In 2018, Gooseneck made its largest expansion with the acquisition of Dakota Farm Equipment, a 5-location John Deere dealership in southwestern North Dakota and northwestern South Dakota.

why "Gooseneck"

In 1974 two men, Daryl Borud and Tom Burkett founded a dealership in Kenmare, North Dakota. At the time, they didn't know what to name this new John Deere Dealership, so they had a contest with their customers. One customer suggested "Gooseneck Implement" because Kenmare is located in the 'gooseneck' region of Ward County. Kenmare is also known for being one of the active flyways in North America for Canada, snow, and gray geese. The name stuck, and still remains as one of the most unique John Deere dealership names in existence.

OUR CULTURE

Gooseneck is built on people—our teams, our customers, and the ag communities we’re proud to be part of. We want you and your family to thrive right alongside us, both at work and in the places you call home.

Keeping a multi-state dealership connected takes real dedication, and our strength comes from a shared mindset: show up, step up, and support one another. That “above and beyond” attitude is what keeps the Gooseneck Family moving forward.

When we back each other, we build trust. We build respect. And we build a culture that’s strong enough to weather anything. So when challenges show up—and in agriculture, they always do—we show up together. That unity is what sets us apart and what keeps our customers coming back. It’s the kind of loyalty you only earn when a team truly cares.

Being part of the Gooseneck Family means knowing your co-workers have your back, and that we always have our customers’ backs, too. It means being part of a company rooted in teamwork, ongoing training, and doing things the right way. It’s knowing our culture and benefits are here to help you grow throughout your career.

At the end of the day, our employees are the connection between our customers and the equipment that keeps their operations running. Our mission is to keep them going—and that mission is powered by the people who work here. We’re looking for passionate, forward-thinking individuals who are ready to give a little extra and make a real impact.
